What Is My Day Master?
Your Day Master is the “you” of your Saju chart — the Heavenly Stem of your birth day. There are 10 types, the Yang and Yin of each element, each with its own nature.
In Saju, your birth day’s Heavenly Stem is the anchor of the whole reading. It tells you which of the five elements you fundamentally are — and whether in its bold (Yang) or gentle (Yin) form. Every other element in your chart is read as either supporting or challenging your Day Master.

What is a Day Master? ＋
Your Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your birth day — the single character in your Saju that represents you. Everything else in your chart is read in relation to it. There are ten Day Masters: Yang and Yin of each of the five elements.
How do I find my Day Master? ＋
You need the stem of your birth day from the Korean lunar-solar (Manse-ryeok) calendar. Our free Saju calculator finds it for you instantly from your birth date — no manual lookup needed.
Is the Day Master the same as a sun sign? ＋
It plays a similar “this is the core you” role, but it’s calculated completely differently. A sun sign comes from the Sun’s zodiac position; a Day Master comes from your birth day in the Stem-Branch calendar and one of the five elements.
Is Day Master used in Bazi too? ＋
Yes. The Day Master (日主 / 日元) is central to both Korean Saju and Chinese Bazi — they share the Four-Pillars system.
